Titleist Sets New Standard as the Overwhelming Equipment Choice at 2004 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship

Press Release

Fairhaven, MA - Titleist has long been recognized for its golf ball usage and success across the worldwide professional tours, with club professionals and at every level of competitive golf. As the country’s top junior boy golfers gathered last week at The Olympic Club in San Francisco for their national championship, a new standard was set when 153 of the 156 players, or 98 percent of the field relied upon the Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball. In addition to its golf ball success, Titleist was once again the overwhelming choice across every major equipment category, including drivers, fairway metals, irons, wedges and putters.

In addition to playing the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball, the Boys’ Junior Amateur champion relied upon 13 Titleist golf clubs. His set composition included a Titleist Titanium 983E (8.5) driver, Titleist Pro Trajectory 980F (15.0) fairway metal, Titleist Forged 670 irons (2-PW) and Vokey Design Sand (54) and Lob (58) wedges. He won 1-up on another Titleist Pro V1x and Titleist Titanium 983E driver loyalist.

Further, at the recently completed U.S. Girls’ Junior played at the Mira Vista GC in Fort Worth, Texas, Titleist accounted for over 81 percent of the field in the golf ball category with 127 players, compared to 16 for the nearest competitor. Titleist also was the driver choice of more players than any other competitor.

The Girls’ champion, who went two extra holes en route to her victory, trusted the Titleist Pro V1 and a complete bag full of Titleist golf clubs for her success. She chose the Titleist Titanium 983K (9.5) driver, Titleist Pro Trajectory 980F 3, 5 and 7 fairway metals, Titleist Forged 704CB irons (3-PW), Vokey Design Sand and Lob wedges and a Scotty Cameron by Titleist Red X putter.

Proof, once again, that when endorsement money is taken out of the game, Titleist is an even greater favorite of the future of competitive golf and serious golfers everywhere.
