Bettinardi Golf Captures Second Consecutive Buick Open Title

Press Release

Bettinardi Golf captured their second consecutive Buick Open Title with an outstanding performance Sunday. The wire-to-wire winner of the 2004 Buick Open changed putters and putting style this week, which proved to be a successful move when he captured the title by one stroke with a final score of 23 under par.

In 2003 Jim Furyk, fresh off his US Open victory, captured the title using a Baby Ben putter. This year the winner used a Ben Hogan by Bettinardi BHB5-CC prototype to tame the field and capture the title and the first place check for $810,000.00 Furyk defended his title well with a final score of –17 and a tie for sixth place.

"The putter's really working for me," said the winner, who abandoned the belly putter after two and a half years this week. "I hope I putt like I did today in two weeks time and everything will be cool." The winner was referring to the seasons final Major, the PGA Championship, which takes place in two weeks at Whistling Straits in Kohler Wisconsin.

“We at Bettinardi Golf are very excited that the leading money winner is using our product,” said Robert J. Bettinardi President of Bettinardi Golf. “Quality and precision are milled into every one of our putters and the results speak for themselves,’” added Bettinardi.

The Ben Hogan by Bettinardi BHB5-CC can be found at pro-shops nationwide.
