PGA statistics compiled through the PGA Championship (Aug. 15, 2004) clearly show that players using Rifle-branded shafts have out-scored all other players on the PGA Tour and are ranked first and second in Scoring Average*. According to PGA Tour data, the Rifle Project X shafts helped achieve a Tour-leading scoring average of 68.65 percent after 4,360 strokes. In second-place, Rifle Flighted shafts helped tally a 68.69 percent scoring average after 3,201 total strokes.
“Rifle-branded shafts are among the most technologically advanced steel shaft designs on the market today, so we are pleased to see the validation of the technology shown by Rifle shafts leading the PGA in scoring,” says John Lauchnor, president and CEO for Royal Precision which designs and manufactures Rifle shafts. “Rifle-branded shafts have had a successful and respected heritage on the PGA Tour, and we’re honored that our premium Rifle shafts continue to make a winning difference.”
Designed and manufactured by Royal Precision, Rifle-branded steel shafts combine four advanced technologies to produce steel shaft innovation unparalleled in the industry. Only Rifle steel shafts offer: Frequency Matching that perfectly matches a set of clubs through electronic calibration; Stepless Design Technology that eliminates the energy-robbing ‘steps’ found on most other steel shafts, and provides greater accuracy and a smooth, yet solid, feel at impact; Patented Internal ‘Rifling’ that transfers energy more efficiently than other steel shafts, reduces vibration and increases distance; and advanced Flighted Technology that features produces variable ball trajectories for different clubs within a single set.
This year, premium Royal Precision steel shafts have also won the 2004 U.S. Open and Masters Tournament as well as The International, FedEx St. Jude Classic, Ford Championship at Doral, Chrysler Classic of Tucson, Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, Sony Open and Mercedes Championships on the PGA Tour, as well as several other wins on the Champions and Nationwide Tours. More wins overseas include the Scottish Open, Volvo PGA Championship, Deutsche Bank-SAP Open, Telecom Italia Open, Open de Sevilla, Telkom PGA Championship, ANZ Championship, Heineken Classic, South African Airways Open and the Omega Hong Kong Open
