Golf Fans Still Have a Chance to Attend Ryder Cup
Press Release
Posted 2004-09-05
Just when you thought your chances to attend the 2004 Ryder Cup were finished, the Autistic Children's Treatment Network (ACT Network) has come through in the clutch. Despite recent reports, the Bingham Farms-based charity, in coordination with the Great Lakes Journal and REM Marketing Group, announced that it still has tickets as well as the closest parking available for professional golf's premier event, Sept. 14-19, at Oakland Hills C.C., in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
Tickets are available for all 2004 Ryder Cup rounds, the opening and closing ceremonies and practice rounds. They can be purchased individually or as part of several daily packages, which include such things as transportation, full catering, parking and hotels. Packages range from $300- $700 depending on the day(s) on which you attend. Weekly packages are also offered. For more information, go to http://www.ryder2004.com or call 866-666-6222.
"While a lot of charities are selling tickets through raffles, the tickets sold through the ACT Network are guaranteed," said Murray Wikol, president of the ACT Network. "So if you buy a raffle ticket, you don't know if you are going to get the Ryder Cup ticket whereas if you go through the ACT Network, you make a donation (which is tax-deductible), you get a ticket. So it is a one-for-one. If you want to go to the Ryder Cup, you can call us up and get a ticket. Oakland Hills and the PGA do not have one ticket for sale. This is the Olympics of golf and will probably never come back to Oakland Hills or the state of Michigan. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
The parking locations, which will hold approximately 2,000 cars per day, are just a short walk from the golf course and are the closest and largest available outside Oakland Hills C.C., residing on the grounds of St. Regis Church, Brother Rice H.S. and Marian H.S. Proceeds go to the ACT Network in Bingham Farms, St. Regis, Brother Rice and Marian.
Parking is not only available for cars and vans, but also VIP limos, tour and shuttle buses and trucks. Mobile security will protect the vehicles in the lots throughout the day. Parking guests will be able to drive into and out of these secured areas even though surrounding roads are closed to the public.
