Staff Professional Annika Sorenstam won the Japan LPGA Tour's Nichirei Cup yesterday at Tokyo Yomiuri Country Club, earning her second victory in six events around the world this year. The resounding nine-stroke triumph came in Sorenstam's final tour event before she is scheduled to play in the PGA Tour's Bank of America Colonial on May 22. "Winning here definitely gives me confidence for the Colonial," said Sorenstam, who will be the first woman to play in a PGA Tour event in 58 years. "It's a big challenge and it's going to be a learning experience for me, but I'm excited about the opportunity." Sorenstam shot a 13-under-par score of 275 to dominate the Nichirei Cup.
