Only days before the November 2nd election, the results of Noodle Golf’s “Vote Noodle” campaign reveal a substantial lead for the Donkey version of the election-themed Noodle box over the Elephant version. The campaign, which launched in September, features the sale of collector's edition Noodle one-dozen boxes, in specially-designed displays that feature professional golfer and TV commentator Gary McCord as Uncle Sam.

The campaign includes an opportunity for golfers to visit www.votenoodle.com and vote for the “Donkey,” “Elephant,” or Gary McCord. The results as of October 28 are:

“Political pundits have been talking about the potential impact a third-party candidate might have on the election, but who knew they meant Gary McCord?” said Bill Price, Director, Maxfli Golf.

The Vote Noodle campaign also experienced its own “Florida problem.” In the initial hours after the site went live, an attack was launched that inflated the number of votes for the Donkey and Gary McCord. This automated script added 6,000 votes over the course of one hour, effectively jamming the vote tabulating software. Those 6,000 votes were deemed fraudulent, and subsequently removed. Since the problem was rectified, over 9,000 legitimate votes have been cast.

“We intended this to be in good fun, but this incident demonstrated just how contentious an election can be,” said Price.

Final results will be posted on the Vote Noodle web site following the election.

The Noodle, which is the best-selling golf ball in the long-and-soft performance category*, employs a new core-creation method that results in a soft-feeling, low-compression core that delivers the kind of high velocity off the clubface that is normally associated with a high-compression core. Plus, the Noodle's dimple pattern and cover work in conjunction with the improved core to promote a high launch angle and low spin-rate off the driver, optimizing carry and roll to promote additional distance. Meanwhile, the new Noodle's soft, copolymer cover blend combines tremendously soft feel with outstanding durability.

Golfers can also choose from the specialized long-and-soft performance of the Noodle Rotini and the Noodle Al Dente. The two-piece Rotini Noodle, which is replacing the Noodle Spin, is engineered to deliver greater spin than the new-and-improved Noodle, along with the kind of soft feel and long distance that golfers have come to associate with the Noodle name. Rotini Noodle's low-compression core and soft ionomer-blend cover work in conjunction to keep spin-rate off the driver low, promoting greater distance off the tee. At the same time, the soft-feeling cover is also designed to sink into the grooves of irons and wedges, adding more spin and control to shots hit with these all-important scoring clubs. Testing indicates that the Rotini Noodle delivers up to 15 percent more spin off the irons than the Noodle.

The two-piece Al Dente Noodle was conceived, diagramed and constructed to deliver maximum distance. A firm, high-flex modulus cover works with the core to key the kind of initial velocity that bumps up against the USGA's limit for legality. In addition, the dynamics of the cover and core also work together to deliver low driver-spin, which is essential to generating maximum driver distance. Despite the distance-producing characteristics that the Al Dente Noodle boasts, it still feels and sounds soft at impact, thanks to the sophisticated formulations of the cover and core. The Al Dente works particularly well for players with slower swing speeds, especially women, who should enjoy the way this ball combines distance with soft feel.

*During the period spanning from the Noodle's introduction in 2001 to the present, the Noodle has been the best-selling golf ball in terms of unit market share in the long-and-soft category of golf balls.
