Nike Xtreme Lite GOlf Bag Breaks with Tradition and Maximizes Comfort Press Release
There are "golf bags" and then there is the new Nike Xtreme Lite golf bag from Nike Golf. That was the response from retailers when Nike Golf first began showing them the latest in carry bag innovation. The Nike Xtreme Lite is a break from tradition, a breakthrough in bag technology and the welcome innovation that many retailers said they would expect only from Nike Golf.
For golfers who prefer to walk while playing there has never been a more comfortable and manageable bag before the Nike Xtreme Lite; but whether a golfer rides or carries, a light and manageable bag is critical to an enjoyable round of golf. At 4.2 pounds, the Nike Xtreme Lite fits the bill.
The Nike Xtreme Lite golf bag is available now at golf shops and golf specialty stores nationwide with a Suggested Retail Price of $150 in the following colorways: Black/Chrome, Atlantic Blue/Silver, Varsity Red/Lt. Graphite, Gun Metal/Black, and Solar Orange/Black.
Nike Xtreme Suspension System
The first noticeable difference golfers will see in the Nike Xtreme Lite is the exterior suspension bar better known as the Nike Xtreme Suspension System. This durable and lightweight exoskeleton frame gives the Nike Xtreme Lite its structure without all of the weight that would normally come with the shape-enhancing stay-rods inside traditional bags. Essentially, the bag takes its form around the Nike Xtreme Suspension System, which also acts as an alternative one or two-handed handle.
Woven Air Technology
Taking cues from Nike Inc.'s proprietary Nike Air technology, Nike Golf has incorporated Nike Air units into its double shoulder straps for superior cushioning and a more comfortable ride. One continuous piece of webbing weaves through the Nike Air unit and attaches the double straps to the bag. When the bag is in use, the webbing allows more pressure to be applied over the Nike Air unit, molding the strap to the golfer's shoulders and allowing the golfer to enjoy maximum cushioning.
Nike Golf designers also incorporated a release button at the point where the double straps converge across the back so that it can be converted to a single strap bag if or when desired.
Flex-Base Phylon Bottom System
Phylon is the material often used in the outsole of Nike sneakers. Nike Golf has created a one-piece flex-base system out of Phylon that encapsulates the traditional foot pedal used to spring the bag's legs when standing. The weight of the clubs in the bag will initiate the extension of the legs when leaned forward. On level ground, the wider Phylon base allows a balanced bag to stand on its own. The Phylon also creates a more durable and stable base.
Pocket Protection
Rounding out the Nike Xtreme Lite's many features are eight strategically placed pockets that accommodate all carrying needs, including a water bottle pocket. A rain hood is included and accommodates all club sizes.
