Golf Magazine Testers Find Magic in Nike Golf's Blue Chip OZ T100

Perfectly timed with the October launch of the new Blue Chip OZ T100 putter from Nike Golf comes GOLF Magazine's November issue and the results of its first-ever Putter Test. After 4,800 putts from 20 golfers with 20 top putters, Nike Golf's BC OZ T100 outscored most of the biggest names in the game and was rated No. 2 Overall in GOLF Magazine's poll of testers.

Of the four categories (Looks, Feel, Control, Overall) that GOLF Magazine asked testers to rank the 20 putters, the BC OZ T100 scored a No. 2 rating in Feel, for some golfers the most important category after Overall.

The BC OZ T100 sank the most putts in the Long Putts test, where golfers putted from 27, 30, 33 and 36 feet. Interestingly, the BC OZ T100 received the most first-place votes from testers with single-digit handicaps.

In addition, at $167 (SRP), the BC OZ T100 is the most affordable option of the Top 3 rated putters by about $50, proving that putting for dough doesn't have to come at a premium.

Last fall, Nike Golf introduced golfers to the magic of the original Blue Chip OZ putter. The most prolific of the Blue Chip (BC) series, the OZ has been a tremendous hit among golfers this past year.

Building upon that success, Nike Golf unveiled the BC OZ T100 mallet putter to golf shops and golf specialty stores nationwide on October 1, 2004.

So what's the magic behind the new OZ? It's actually a 100-gram Tungsten plug in the extreme rear of the clubhead that accounts for 30 percent of the head's overall weight. The rear weighting significantly increases the club head's stability and helps reduce skidding; resulting in more on-line / truer rolling putts.

The Blue Chip series gets its name from the striking blue, feel-enhancing face insert that is 73 percent softer than stainless steel.

The BC OZ T100 is face balanced, and the 100-gram Tungsten plug doubles as an alignment aid along with parallel and perpendicular site lines.

New to the BC series is the C-Thru Grip from Golf Pride, a high-tack, soft, thermoplastic rubber paddle style grip that wraps around the BC OZ T100's double bend stepless steel shaft.

The BC OZ T100 is available in lengths of 33-inches, 34-inches and 35-inches for right-handed players and 34-inches and 35-inches for left-handed players.

The new BC OZ style is also available in a mid-length version and features a 140-gram Tungsten plug. The BC OZ T140 is available now in a right-handed model only with lengths of 41-inches, 43-inches and 45-inches and a Suggested Retail Price of $199.
