In 1979, Etonic began studying the bio-mechanics of a golfer’s swing to determine whether a golf shoe outsole design could actually help improve stability and traction. One year later, Etonic introduced a shoe with a twelfth spike placed at the center of the outsole for improved traction. Seven years later, Etonic introduced a patented outsole that was called Stabilizer Technology™. This revolutionary design combined pyramid turf grips with a unique spike placement, and was built on a wider platform that featured a flare heel. The colorful outsole features a Multi-Zone Traction System™ which combines tri-directional pyramid turf grips with lateral and longitudinal stability bars and a C.I.P. (critical impact point) for incredible traction on all types of lies. A TPU stability shank provides added arch support and lateral stability.
