In 1979, Etonic began studying the bio-mechanics of a golfer’s swing to determine whether a golf shoe outsole design could actually help improve stability and traction. One year later, Etonic introduced a shoe with a twelfth spike placed at the center of the outsole for improved traction. Seven years later, Etonic introduced a patented outsole that was called Stabilizer Technology™. This revolutionary design combined pyramid turf grips with a unique spike placement, and was built on a wider platform that featured a flare heel. Since then, Stabilizer Technology has been the foundation of every Etonic golf shoe. In 1996, Etonic led the transition from metal spikes to soft spikes with the introduction of the first spikeless golf shoe called the DIFFERENCE. Today, Etonic is once again at the forefront of outsole technology with the introduction of G>SOK™.

“G>SOK does for footwear what hybrids did for the club market,” stated Karen Pitts, vice president of Etonic Worldwide. “This new design provides a level of convenience that has been missing in the shoe category.”

Etonic G>SOK is the industry’s 1st Non-Cleated Performance golf shoe. Etonic has partnered with Goodyear to build a new lightweight traction system that is extremely comfortable and durable. The colorful outsole features a Multi-Zone Traction System™ which combines tri-directional pyramid turf grips with lateral and longitudinal stability bars and a C.I.P. (critical impact point) for incredible traction on all types of lies. A TPU stability shank provides added arch support and lateral stability.

Comfort has always been paramount in the design of Etonic footwear, and now Etonic has taken comfort technology to the next level with G>SOK. Constructed with a full grain leather upper, the G>SOK combines a removable Tri-Density Poliyou™ footbed and a new Cushion Suspension Insole System™ for added cushioning and enhanced comfort and fit throughout the shoe.

“The G>SOK is a designer’s dream,” continued Pitts. “By not having to build a golf shoe around replacement cleats, we can make the shoe lighter and more flexible than conventional golf footwear, and at the same time can have more fun with the overall look of the shoe.”

The G>SOK comes in thirteen fresh new styles ranging from traditional to sporty. The women’s golf shoes feature fashionable contemporary colors that accent the line. Available in golf shops October 15, 2004, the G>SOK has a one-year waterproof guarantee and retails for $100.00.
