MacGregor Golf Debuts its New M565 Irons with V-Foil Speed (tm) Technology

MacGregor Golf today debuted its new V-FOIL M565 irons at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida. The new V-FOIL M565 irons offer a slim and sleek game enhancement technology that will inspire mid-handicap golfers to play with greater aggressiveness and confidence.

MacGregor's new V-FOIL SPEED Technology is a flexible high rebound face technology that delivers astounding distance, forgiveness and accuracy. The V-FOIL SPEED clubface is harder in the center and softer in the perimeter. On-center shots come off the face faster, producing greater distance. Off-center shots come off nearly as fast with little distance loss, and lots of forgiveness.

Two distinct forged metals are used: a harder 4140 Carbon Steel is used in the long irons for greater distance and a softer 1045 Carbon Steel is used in the short irons for more spin and control. Tungsten weights in the long irons create an easy, high launch. Progressive V-FOIL back weighting in the short irons provides more workability and control.

V-FOIL SPEED Technology and the M565 design produce an iron system. The long irons, 2-6, deliver high trajectory, more distance and forgiveness. The short irons, 7-PW, provide more spin and control. All M565 irons deliver the forged advantage - shot consistency, distance control and unbeatable feel.

The V-FOIL M565 irons set, 3-PW, are fitted with Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips and regular flex (4.5) or stiff flex (5.5) Rifle Flighted Lite shafts. The exclusive Rifle Flighted Lite (104 grams) shaft technology provides a low-bend profile in the 2-6 irons for easy high launch and a mid-bend profile in 7-PW for a more controllable trajectory. Optional Graphite Design YS-Technology shafts are also available.

V-FOIL M565 irons are sold at leading off-course retailers and green grass pro shops at a suggested retail price of $799.99 (steel) and $899.99 (graphite). Shipments begin in February with full distribution by end of March.
