Burton Golf to Debut New, Lightweight “Cruzer” Golf Bag
Press Release
Posted 2005-02-13
Burton Golf, the legendary golf-bag manufacturer that recently unveiled its revolutionary Club-Lok anti-theft golf bag, today announces the introduction of its “Cruzer” golf bag – a lightweight, hybrid bag designed for golf, push and speed carts that will debut at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. January 27-30.
Designed to fit comfortably on the back of golf carts and firmly fixed to push and speed carts, the Cruzer golf bag effectively bridges the gap between large, feature-rich cart bags and lightweight, maneuverable stand bags. Cruzer’s custom top allows easy club access while strapped to golf carts and reduces “club clanking” during use in push and speed carts. Its contoured bottom fits securely to most cart brackets and eliminates sliding and twisting. Special sling attachments and adjustments provide a flush fit, and easy-grip side handles make for easy portability and maneuvering. Tees, balls and other supplies can be stored in the bag’s 11 exterior pockets.
Cruzer’s angled beverage holder keeps drinks secure and vertical when used in push and speed carts, and the Insulated Polar Zone compartment keeps them chilled for up to an entire round. Pulling the right club from the Cruzer golf bag is simple and efficient by way of its 14-way, angle-top divider, integrated, front-access putter tube, and its side-aligned, raised area for woods.
An innovative club layout prevents shaft damage, and a flip-down top pocket enables unobstructed cart strap fastening. The Cruzer meets the growing demand for a versatile golf bag that satisfies golfers who walk and ride golf courses but don’t want to sacrifice ample storage capacity and amenities.
In recent years, golfers have gained a heightened awareness about the fitness benefits of walking. Moreover, trends in golf-course design have turned toward more neo-traditional layouts and routings that promote walking. Yet golfers are resistant to slinging bags across their shoulders for four to five hours, especially in the summer heat or on courses with severe elevation changes.
“Push and speed carts have become popular the past few years among golfers not wanting to carry golf bags but preferring to walk,” says Terry Andre, Burton Golf’s vice president of sales and marketing. “These types of carts have gained almost universal acceptance, even at high-end private clubs and semi-private courses where pull carts were traditionally forbidden.”
The Cruzer bag is available in seven color combinations (colors or color combinations if two-tone), and has an MSRP of $159.
