CARLSBAD, Calif. -- The TaylorMade r7 quad, currently the No. 1 driver on the PGA Tour, was used to win two events during the past weekend, the Chrysler Classic of Tucson and the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am.

Ogilvy Wins Chrysler Classic of Tucson
In Tucson, TaylorMade Tour Staff professional Geoff Ogilvy captured the Chrysler Classic of Tucson with a birdie on the second playoff hole to notch his first career PGA Tour victory. The victory came in Ogilvy's fifth start at the tournament where he made his debut as a member of the PGA Tour, in 2001; then he finished T3. In Geoff's bag: TaylorMade r7 quad driver, TaylorMade V Steel 3-wood and TaylorMade rac forged irons.

It was the first PGA Tour win in 108 tries for the 27-year old Aussie, who scored four top-10 finishes last season, and who has been a runner-up three times. "It feels like I've been waiting quite a while, so it is special," said Ogilvy.

Irwin Wins Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am
On the Champions Tour, 59-year-old TaylorMade Tour Staff professional Hale Irwin chalked up his 42nd Champions Tour victory by winning the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am, his second title this year. In Hale's bag: TaylorMade r7 quad driver, TaylorMade 3-wood, two TaylorMade Rescue Mids, TaylorMade rac LT irons, TaylorMade rac SW and a Rossa Modena putter.

Hale, the Champions Tour career victory leader, stretched his lead in the Schwab Cup standings, which he won last year and in 2002, to nearly 300 points.

Ogilvy and Irwin's victories bring the r7 quad's win total to six on major tours worldwide in 2005. Last year, the r7 quad was used to win 14 PGA Tour events, the most of any driver model.

TaylorMade is the No. 1 Driver on the PGA Tour
TaylorMade has won 165 consecutive PGA Tour driver counts and counting, spanning from August 2001 to last week's Accenture Match Play and Chrysler Classic of Tucson. TaylorMade drivers were used to win a total of 76 tournaments on the PGA Tour, European Tour, Champions Tour, Nationwide Tour and Japan Tour last year - more than any other driver brand. On the PGA Tour, half of the 48 events played in 2004 - 24 - were won by players using TaylorMade drivers. Of those 24 wins, 14 were by players using the r7 quad; more than any other driver model.

Likewise, TaylorMade drivers dominated the counts at 2004's major championships. TaylorMade ranked No. 1 at all four men's Major Championships; of those four, TaylorMade drivers were used to win the U.S. Open, the Open Championship and the PGA Championship.
