After four full years on the PGA Tour, Sunday's winner of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans finally found the winning formula. The devout Doors fan was able to break on through to the winning side using a 17-degree 3DX Ironwood. It is only the second time this season a hybrid has been in the bag of a PGA Tour champion and it is the first ever win for Nickent Golf on the coveted PGA Tour. The winner earned his first PGA Tour victory in his 119th career start and a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour that make him exempt through the 2007 season. The first place finish netted the winner $990,000, catapulting him to 18th on the money list.

The 3DX Ironwood is the fastest growing hybrid on the PGA Tour with 12 clubs in play at the Zurich Classic. Combined on both the PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour, the 3DX is the #2 most played hybrid this week. TaylorMade, with its 86 staff players, was #1 with 46 hybrids. Nickent was a close #2 with 37 3DX's in play on both Tours, accomplished with no staff players and no "tee-up" compensation program. The #3 ranking hybrid had 25 hybrids in play, while #4, a giant manufacturer also known for its large Tour staff, had only 8. (According to the Darrell Survey) This year is the first year Nickent has had full-time representation on the PGA Tour.

The 3DX didn’t stop at winning for the first time on the biggest Tour in golf. The 3DX earned a Top 10 at the Virginia Beach Open on the Nationwide Tour - its eighth Top 10 after only six events this year. In the 17 events since its introduction to the Nationwide Tour, the 3DX has earned an amazing 24 Top Ten finishes.

On the Champions Tour this week, the 2004 Champions Tour Player of the Year earned his second consecutive Top 10 with a 3DX Ironwood in the bag.
