TaylorMade-adidas Tour Staff professional Shane Bertsch won the BMW Charity Pro-Am at the Cliffs playing Maxfli's newly introduced BlackMAX golf ball. It's the first time BlackMAX has been used to win on a professional tour. Bertsch started the final round 12 shots out of the lead, but fired a 65 - the low round of the day - to capture his second Nationwide Tour title.
BlackMAX is a multilayer ball engineered to deliver a tour-caliber combination of high speed and low spin off the driver, high spin off the short irons, and soft feel off of every club. Compared to other balls in the tour-caliber category, BlackMAX is engineered to deliver competitive degrees of distance, spin and control, with the added benefit of improved feel. Likewise, BlackMAX features Maxfli Spin Control, which helps it to stop quickly after one bounce, without rolling forward too far or spinning back too far. (See the BlackMAX press release for more details on its design and performance.)
"Shane's victory validates that BlackMAX delivers the kind of performance necessary to win at the professional level," says Dean Snell, Senior Director of Product Development.
Besides BlackMAX, Bertsch used a TaylorMade R540 driver, TaylorMade r5 dual 3-wood and TaylorMade rac irons. He wore adidas Golf footwear and apparel.
