Nakashima Golf Launches NX-1 Line of Utility Woods
Press Release
Posted 2005-08-08
Nakashima Golf (www.nakashimagolf.com)
announced today the launch of its NX-1 Utility Line of Hybrid Woods. Nakashima’s
NX-1 Utility Woods are targeted toward golfers seeking maximum forgiveness and a
higher launch condition. The moderate offset of the NX-1 Utility Woods gives
golfers the ability to play an enhancing draw flight on their golf shots while
not taking away the ability to fade the ball when needed. The NX-1 Utility
Wood from Nakashima Golf, which has a growing reputation as one of the finest
golf equipment manufacturers on the market today, comes in a distinguished
"midnight" black pearl color that complements any of the exotic shaft colors
available. Because Nakashima is revolutionizing the way original equipment
manufacturers deliver golf clubs to the public, this fact is especially important.
Traditionally golf equipment is sold by major manufacturers with only a "stock"
shaft as an option. While Nakashima’s high quality standard shaft is available,
Nakashima also offers its products through selected master club builders who
can fit and customize Nakashima golf equipment to exacting standards not readily
available to Nakashima’s competitors. Furthermore, the Nakashima NX-1 Utility
Woods feature the same identical weight as Nakashima’s iron heads. For
example the # 2 Nakashima utility wood head is the same weight as the Nakashima 2
iron. This makes Nakashima’s master club builders job of matching club
performance that much easier and more precise. The Nakashima NX-1 Woods will be
available in five different lofts designed to replace a one, two, three, four or five
iron.
"We currently are noticing that more and more tour players and low
handicappers are going to utility or hybrid clubs," Nakashima President John Nakashima
stated. "The mid to high handicappers have already discovered the benefits of
replacing their 2, 3 and 4 irons with these inventive alternatives. But all
golfers are now learning that mis-hits are greatly improved and that they will
experience greater distance control and more distance with a utility club than
they will with the long irons they’re used to playing with. It was our goal
with the NX-1 Utility Woods to provide the best performing set of utility clubs
ever made and we have done just that. That we accomplished our secondary goal
of giving our NX-1 Utility Woods a ‘classic’ look that even the most
discriminating traditionalist will appreciate makes us just as proud. When you look
down at these clubs, you get the feeling that you’re playing with a traditional
golf club, not a 21st century gimmick. From a performance standpoint, we
created a sole that can handle tight lies while easily gliding through heavy rough.
Another feature of the NX-1 Utility is the focus we placed on achieving a
perfectly ‘flat’ position at address. Most of our competitors’ utility clubs have
a serious problem at address. The head can easily move the clubface angle to
a 5 degrees open position, which can lead to missed greens and more strokes
per hole. The performance built into the Nakashima NX-1 Utility Woods will set
the new standard for this product segment of the golf industry."
