Sonartec Earns Third Place Finish at Greensboro

Posted 2005-10-09

The third place finisher at the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro earned his second-best finish of the 2005 PGA Tour season while playing an NP-99 fairway wood last weekend. All told, the third place tie was the 56th PGA Tour Top-10 Finish for Sonartec in 2005, continuing to build on the manufacturer's highest single-season Top-10 total.

After shooting a steady even-par 72 in the opening round, the third place finisher took the field by storm with an impressive second-round 65 (-7) in working himself back into contention. Thanks to his 17-under-par 271, he earned his fifth Top-10 finish in 2005; all while playing the NP-99. It was his best finish since earning a runner-up finish at the Bell South Classic in April.

The NP-99 was designed and named in honor of Sonartec staff player Nick Price's induction as the 99th member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. It is a hybrid mid/deep faced fairway wood which features a horseshoe-shaped copper-tungsten rear weight designed to provide the highest launch angle of all Sonartec fairway woods. It is powered by a genuine Aldila NV fairway wood shaft, and is the fairway wood of choice for its namesake.
