The Golf Channel Launches a New "Club" Offering for Golfers

Today, GOLF Intelligence, Inc., a provider of technology-enabled systems and services to the golf industry, announced that it has been selected by The Golf Channel.com to develop and deploy a Web-based system for USGA handicapping and event management to serve more than 100 “TGC Players Clubs” in the U.S. through the Gametracker service available at www.golfchannel.com. Gametracker is an online service that allows players to track their golf statistics for game analysis and improvement.
“We have very loyal users of our GameTracker and Video Vault products that have shown interest to become members of organized golf clubs with an opportunity to participate in regular local events and establish a USGA handicap,” said John Houde, Vice President of New Media at The Golf Channel. “The Golf Intelligence system enables us to operate clubs that provide golfers with a variety of valuable benefits.”
The GOLF Intelligence system will provide all TGC Players Club members with a standardized USGA Handicap Service® that includes event management, online registration and a variety of private club-to-member and member-to-member communication tools. The system was developed in partnership with Microsoft on the next-generation .NET technology framework that connects information, people, systems and devices, enabling both new and existing applications to connect with software and services across platforms, applications and programming languages.
