IntelliGolf® Version 8.0 Ships for Palm and Treo handhelds

Press Release

Posted 2006-07-13

Karrier Communications, leaders in 'Sports Enhancing Software', today announced the shipment of its new IntelliGolf® version 8.0 software for Palm OS-based handhelds, including the Treo. IntelliGolf version 8.0 adds support for hybrid clubs, GPS data entry using popular GPS viewers (e.g. Google Earth), GPS Auto-Fill™, more wagering games, improved synchronization, and combines the previously separate Palm and Treo products into one Palm OS-based product. IntelliGolf is the #1 selling "Golf Scoring and GPS Software" for Palm handhelds, Pocket PCs, and Smartphones in 125+ countries worldwide. IntelliGolf is immediately available from http://www.intelligolf.com/estore.asp SRP: $29.95-$49.95.

"Customers have been requesting support for hybrid clubs and the ability to pre-enter GPS coordinates into IntelliGolf prior to playing a new course." said Craig A. Schmidt, President/CEO of Karrier Communications. "Version 8.0 adds these features, plus more."

Product Overview

The IntelliGolf software replaces pencil and paper golf scoring, wagering, and statistics gathering on the golf course. Users enter their scores, wagers, and club selection on their Pocket PC. IntelliGolf totals all scores, tabulates all wagers, and synchronizes with the included Windows desktop software. From the IntelliGolf desktop software users can view performance graphs, approximating their handicap, and evaluate their Dream Round™.

Version 8.0 provides users with the ability to pre-enter GPS coordinates into IntelliGolf using popular GPS viewers (e.g. Google Earth). This allows customers to GPS-enable a golf course before they play it the first time. Distances for the 200, 150, 100 yard/meter markers, front, center, and back of the Green, and up to three custom points (e.g. landing area, creek, sand trap, etc) can be viewed per hole. In addition, IntelliGolf's new GPS Auto-Fill™ feature will save users up to 75% of the keystrokes normally required to GPS-enable a course.

IntelliGolf is the only golf software to include all seven S's of golf: Scoring, Shot tracking, Satellite GPS, Sharing, Sidegames (35+), Statistics (250+), and Signature course (21,500+) scorecards. IntelliGolf is compatible with industry-leading GPS receivers (see http://www.intelligolf.com/intelliGpsCert.asp) via Bluetooth, SDIO, Compact Flash and embedded GPS connections. IntelliGolf provides free access to the largest collection of international golf course scorecards in the world (21,500+) via the customer's Internet or wireless connection. Other companies charge an annual subscription fee, or $9.95 to $19.95 for each course download. IntelliGolf users also enjoy compressed course sizes of 5Kb to 8Kb. By comparison, course sizes for other products can be up to 400,000 bytes. This saves users time, money, and memory. IntelliGolf is available in three (3) editions: Par ($29.95), Birdie ($39.95), and Eagle ($49.95).
