Graphite Design International ("GDI") - maker of some of the most widely played graphite driver shaft models on the PGA TOUR - today announces four top-six finishers at the PGA TOUR's Chrysler Classic of Greensboro played GDI shaft models, according to the Darrell Survey.

GDI's popular YS line was the shaft of choice in fairway woods of the four pros. Each player used a YS model in his 3-wood, including the YS-Power, YS-7 and YS-8.1, as the foursome combined to finish 49-under par for the week at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. GDI's YS-6 was the most popular graphite driver shaft model on the PGA TOUR from 2003-05.

"Fairway wood play is one of the hidden keys to success on the PGA TOUR as players often utilize the clubs when accuracy is required from the tee," said Akio Karashima, CEO of GDI. "It's no surprise that so many pros turn to GDI shafts and their renowned accuracy and distance – qualities that can benefit non-professional golfers as well."

Last year, GDI shafts were used by 18 winners on the PGA TOUR and 42 winners worldwide, helping them amass more than $75 million in earnings. They were also played by PGA TOUR leaders in Total Driving (distance plus accuracy), five of the top-10 players in Driving Accuracy Percentage, four of the top-10 money winners, and top-10 players in the World Golf Rankings.

On the Japan Tour, GDI shafts have been the most-played brand for a staggering 127 straight tournaments, an unprecedented streak dating back to 2002. GDI shafts were victorious 16 times on the Japan Tour in 2005.
