Played by five of the Top Six players on the 2006 European Order of Merit, premium Rifle steel shafts delivered another masterful performance at the Mallorca Classic on the European Tour, claiming first- and second-place at the Spanish island resort. This year’s Mallorca champion played Rifle Project X steel shafts in his irons to overcome the undulating fairways and long, unforgiving rough, while this year’s runner and local favorite also played Rifle Project X shafts to capture second-place for the second consecutive year.

“The European Tour has provided a lot of excitement this year, and we’re very pleased that Rifle shafts have delivered winning results week after week at some of the world’s most inspiring venues,” says Ray Lucas, vice president of sales of Rifle and Precision brands, True Temper. “Rifle steel shafts, including the Project X, feature a stepless profile and patented internal ‘rifling’ design that combine to yield an incredibly efficient energy transfer at impact. It’s a technological combination that yields improved accuracy and a smooth, yet solid, feel at impact.”

One of the world’s most advanced steel shaft designs, Rifle Project X features a different constant taper per inch for each shaft in the set. Longer taper rates result in more energy transfer to the ball, and the ball gets up faster and flattens out for a penetrating trajectory. Rifle Project X shafts have already won 15 pro tournaments this year, including the 2006 Masters.

Rifle shafts combine four advanced technologies: Frequency Matching that perfectly matches a set of clubs through electronic calibration; Stepless Design Technology that provides greater accuracy and a smooth, yet solid, feel at impact; Patented Internal ‘Rifling’ that increases energy transfer efficiency and distance while reducing vibration; and advanced Flighted Technology that features produces variable ball trajectories for different clubs within a single set.
