Cobra Golf ambassador Ian Poulter went wire-to-wire en route to a three-shot victory at the Dunlop Phoenix in Japan. Poulter fired four consecutive rounds in the 60’s (65-68-67-69), including a first round 5-under 65 that put him atop the leaderboard from the start. He finished with an 11-under 269 total for his 9th career victory.

Featuring the largest tournament purse of the season on the Japan Tour, the Dunlop Phoenix attracted several of the world’s top players. In a post-tournament interview Poulter acknowledged that his equipment, which includes nine King Cobra golf clubs, played a major role in his success this week.

"It was the perfect week with the perfect clubs,” said the champion. “Tee to fairway, and fairway to green, it was my best ball striking week of the year. My Cobra Speed Pro S driver and Cobra Pro MB irons were amazing!"

The victory is the latest display of success for Cobra Staff Professionals during the "Fall Series" in Japan. Other notable finishes include:

- Camilo Villegas winning the Coca Cola Tokai Classic

- Jeong Jang defending her title with a tie for 5th at the Japan Women's Open

- Jeong Jang tying for 14th at the LPGA’s Mizuno Classic

- Geoff Ogilvy finishing tied for 4th at Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters Poulter, who advanced to 20th in the Official World Golf Rankings, will next tee it up at this week’s World Cup in China.
