EyeLine Golf releases MP3 Training Sessions for NCAA Championship Courses

Press Release

EyeLine Golf has taken another innovative step to help their customer base “practice smart.” In 2007 EyeLine Golf introduced a new service that has revolutionized practice. It is called “MP3 Training”. “Using today’s technology we have simply automated what every good “practicer” does,” states Sam Froggatte, CEO of EyeLine Golf.

“Every athlete has made up scenes where they were playing in the World Series or the NBA Finals. Visualizing you are at the US Open is a great way to make practice more fun. When I was working with my sons as they practiced on the range, I would create shot scenarios they needed to execute. I would say, “The target is the tree on the right, and the brown spot is a water hazard. You have 173 yards a little downhill.” They would decide on the club and the shot they wanted to hit, and try to make it as realistic as possible. They would hit the shot and turn to me and ask for another shot to hit. Pretty soon we would have all the kids and half the adults wanting the next shot! Of course, we were always playing the US Open.”

With this demand in mind, EyeLine has recorded 100’s of shot scenarios and put them in MP3 format on their website. Anyone can download them onto their iPod or MP3 player and take them to the range … for free.

They have recently released the shots for each of the NCAA Regional and National championship courses. “This idea came when we had coaches call and ask if we would record their conference courses. It only seemed natural to offer the option to the rest of the college players.”

When a listener plays a course they hear, “1st hole, par 5, 512 yards dogleg right. It is a 239 yard carry over the bunker on the corner of the dogleg.” Each of the following 35 shots will be played in sequence.

“The goal is to help the player visualize what they will see when they play the course, and concentrate more when they are hitting balls. Most players and coaches do this in their preparations, but this is a lot easier on them…and it’s fun!”

“We also have groups of shots based on length and hazard locations, in addition to “Play the course”. We have even created chipping and putting games where you play against the “voice in your head.”

“When I do radio interviews, I tell them, “This is the only training aid you can demonstrate on the radio.” The callers love to talk about it, and they give us great ideas,” says Froggatte.
