PLANO, TEXAS, December 10, 2008 - Adams Golf (NasdaqCM:ADGF) made a
major addition to its LPGA Tour staff by signing this year's Rookie of
the Year, Yani Tseng, to an endorsement deal. Tseng will play Adams Golf
equipment, wear an Adams Golf hat and carry an Adams Golf staff bag.
Tseng had a spectacular rookie season on the LPGA, which included a
major victory at the McDonald's LPGA Championship in June for her first
LPGA Tour win, and five second-place finishes to help her reach 3rd
place on the official money list with over $1.75 million in earnings.
Her strong rookie showing also earned her a second-place ranking on the
Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings as of December 1.
"Everything has come pretty quickly this year, and joining one of the
top companies like Adams Golf at the end of the season makes the future
even more exciting," said Tseng. "After playing and testing a lot of
different clubs I felt most comfortable and confident with Adams Golf
equipment. Their success with hybrids is all the talk on tour, and the
new drivers and hybrid-fairway woods are some of the best I've ever hit.
I couldn't be happier."
Before joining the LPGA Tour full-time in 2008, Tseng was a top-ranked
amateur in Taiwan from 2004-06. Her amateur career included four wins in
the U.S. and 15 other victories worldwide. In 2007 she competed
professionally on the Asian Golf Tour and the CN Canadian Women's Tour
where she earned victories on both tours before finishing sixth at the
LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn exempt status for the 2008 LPGA
season.
"We believe that Yani will be a great representative of our company and
we're excited to have her join our tour staff and add even more talent
to our growing LPGA team," said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf president and
CEO. "She had a remarkable rookie season and to have a player of her
caliber and great potential trust the performance of our golf clubs is
something that we're very proud of and reinforces our commitment to
developing world-class equipment for both elite players and weekend
warriors."
Tseng is the latest in a growing list of young stars on the Adams Golf
LPGA Tour staff which includes two-time champion, Brittany Lincicome,
Brittany Lang, Lindsey Wright and Taylor Leon.
