CARLSBAD, Calif. (March 9, 2009)– TaylorMade Tour Staff professional Y.E. Yang hung tough through the difficult closing holes of the Champion Course at the PGA National Resort and Spa to secure his first PGA Tour victory at the Honda Classic. Playing a TaylorMade TP Red ball, Yang was long, averaging 299.8 yards off the tee, and straight, ranking T3 (72.2%) in greens in regulation. Key to his victory was his success in "the Bear Trap," the nickname for the exceptionally difficult 15, 16 and 17th holes.

The Champion Course is one of the PGA TOUR's toughest tracks, ranking 9th out of 54 in difficulty among the TOUR's venues last year. Critical to Yang's victory was his control from tee to green in the predominately blustery conditions, thanks in part to TaylorMade's TP Red™ ball with LDP technology, which is famed for its performance in the wind. Sergio Garcia called it the best wind ball he has ever played after winning last year's Players Championship in heavy wind.

Yang, 37, who took up golf at the relatively advanced age of 19, now has 10 worldwide professional wins, and is the second South Korean player to win on the PGA TOUR. His victory at the Honda earned him a slot in next week's World Golf Championships-CA Championship next week, a two-year exemption on the PGA TOUR and an invitation to this year's Masters Tournament.
