CARLSBAD, Calif. (April 2, 2009) - TaylorMade Golf Company announced today that four-time PGA tournament winner Rory Sabbatini has joined the company's PGA Tour Staff. Ranked in the Top 50 of Official World Golf Rankings, Sabbatini will play TaylorMade equipment and wear TaylorMade headwear. "TaylorMade's clubs are fantastic and this was a very opportune time for me to switch into their equipment," said Sabbatini. I recently put the new R9 driver into the bag and have been amazed at the results. The launch monitors have also shown an increased performance with the Tour Preferred irons. Preparing for Augusta, the timing couldn't be better for me to bolster my confidence with equipment I know will perform at the highest level."

Sabbatini played a set of TaylorMade Tour Preferred® irons (4-PW), a TaylorMade Burner® driver, an R9™ 3-wood and 56° and 60° rac™ wedges at the WGC-CA Championship. The following week at the Transitions Championship, Sabbatini switched to the new R9 driver with Flight Control Technology.

"Ever since Rory broke onto the PGA Tour, we have liked his tenacity and aggressive approach on the golf course," said Chuck Presto, senior vice president of global sports marketing. "Rory is a very gifted player who is capable of reeling off many, many wins on the PGA Tour and we look forward to watching him grow using our equipment."

The South African attended the University of Arizona and turned professional in 1988. He joined the PGA Tour in 1999 and posted his first victory at the Air Canada Championship in 2000. Since then he has claimed PGA Tour victories at the FBR Capital Open, Nissan Open and the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial. Sabbatini has been ranked as low as No. 8 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Sabbatini joins an impressive list of players on TaylorMade's Tour staff including World Golf top ranked players Sergio Garcia, Kenny Perry, Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson and Sean O'Hair. Also on staff are major winners Mike Weir, Retief Goosen, Todd Hamilton, Greg Norman, Corey Pavin, Hale Irwin, Dave Stockton and Tom Lehman.
