AccuFLEX Golf (www.accuflexgolf.com)
announced that it's ICON v.2 shaft was in the driver of the first round co-leader
of the 2003 U.S. Open at Olympia Fields, Illinois. The ICON v.2 has continued
to grow in popularity with PGA Tour professionals and its presence atop the
leader board at the world's most challenging professional tournament is further evidence that AccuFLEX Golf's A2 advanced design composite technology has
arrived. The first round of the 2003 U.S. Open told one of the most exciting and
touching stories in the history of golf.
"We at AccuFLEX Golf, like everyone who watched the first round of this
year's U.S. Open, are excited to watch how the rest of the tournament
unfolds," AccuFLEX president Jody Baucom commented. "No matter what happens, we will
always remember the magic of this very special day and we will always be
grateful that we were a part of that magic. We are hopeful that the attention
today's events brought to Bruce Edwards and his struggles will be of some benefit
to Bruce, his family and to everyone whose life has been touched by ALS. What
an amazing day. It should be a great tournament to watch this weekend."
