Maxfli Noodle Wins Pro Golf's 2002 Product of the Year Award

TaylorMade-adidas Golf today announced its Maxfli Noodle™ ball has won Pro Golf of America, Inc.'s 2002 product of the year award. It is the first time any of the company's three brands (TaylorMade, adidas Golf, Maxfli Golf) has been honored by Pro Golf in this category since the awards began in 1985.

The Noodle is also the first ball to ever take home Pro Golf's best product prize, a recognition the retailer has kept conditional (not given out every year). Other awards handed out by Pro Golf in 2002: retailer of the year, vendor of the year and best new store.

"To us, the Noodle represents almost the perfect product," said Pro Golf vice president Joe Jackman. "It encompasses the three things that our retailers -- and in turn, their customers -- look for: high performance, competitive margins and a practical price."

Jackman went on to mention that beyond the award itself, the Noodle has also been Pro Golf's best selling individual ball model (total units and dollars) in the $25-and-under category in 2002.

"Consumer and retailer response to the Noodle has been amazing -- with its market share growing 700 percent in less than a year," said Merle Marting, Maxfli's vice president of product and brand development.

Marting continued: "For Maxfli, this award not only recognizes our dedication to making innovative products for golfers, but gives us sell-through momentum for our A3 and M3 Performance Series balls. In fact, we've already had to increase our original forecast."
