Congratulations Michael White!! June Contest Winner!

Michael White of Shoreview, MN has responded and accepted his prize of a brand new TaylorMade R540 driver in the June 2003 Contest Giveaway at Golf Gear Review. Michael's name was picked out of the list of folks who submitted reviews in the months of April, May and June. In those three months, we found that Michael had submitted 9 seperate quality reviews which obviously had an impact on increasing the chances that his name would be pulled.

Of the TaylorMade R500 Series, Michael chose a right-handed R540 with 10.5 degrees of loft and a stiff Graffaloy Blue shaft. His new driver has been ordered and will be delivered to him next week. Michael's first response to his announcement was "What a great surprise! I never win anything, this is a first! Thank you very much, I really appreciate this! I've been drooling over the R500's at the golf shop for a while now!".

When we asked Michael to tell us a little more about him, he replied:

I am your typical "Weekend warrior." I usually get to play a round once or twice a week, and take every opportunity to take a day off work to sneak in a round. I don't have a handicap, but I usually shoot in the high eighties to low nineties. I've been playing golf for about 5 years now. I'm 28 years old, not married--so I can golf all I want, and do computer support and networking for a living. I'm probably not the person you should get swing tips from, so my tip would be: "Hold your head high even if you can't keep your head down, and enjoy yourself! After all, its just golf and you could be at work!"

Also, another special note: Towards the end of last year we ran a contest for an Odyssey White Hot Two Ball Putter. No one (in several attempts) claimed their prize. As a reminder, please double check your email address when you submit a review for correct spelling, etc. As a result of this, we have decided to up the ante, per say, and giveaway the Scotty Cameron Futura Putter in our next giveaway - as well as roll all of the folks that submitted reviews for that contest into this one. Don't hesitate to stop back and submit some new reviews though!
