A revolutionary new product will hit pro shops and golf retailers this fall, aimed at adding convenience and enjoyment to the game for pros, amateurs and golf enthusiasts everywhere. Stickup™ is an accessory that can slip inside any golf bag, providing a portable "caddy" for pitching wedge and putter. The device is easily removed and returned from green to tee. The mechanism consists of two plastic tubes for the "sticks," an automatic pivoting stand, and a convenient attachment handle.
Golfers simply place their wedge and putter inside Stickup™ and, upon approaching a green, remove the Stickup™ and carry only this small, lightweight apparatus to complete their chip and putt. Upon detaching the Stickup™ from the golf bag, two legs automatically release for easy stand-up (and automatically retract when Stickup™ is lifted off the ground). Now golfers need only the Stickup™, armed with wedge and putter, when approaching the green.
The durable Stickup™ is designed to bring considerable convenience to the game. No longer will players risk getting their club heads and handles wet - either from dew or rainfall - from placing their "clubs-in-wait" on wet grass. No longer will golfers lose their wedge after leaving it on the green before approaching a putt. Plus, Stickup™ is ideal for "cart path only" play.
Inspired by a homemade device used by a south Florida golfer, Stickup™ was conceived by Florida businessman and avid golfer Ed Miller who realized "there has to be a better way." He began developing Stickup™ in 1999 and patented the product last year. Miller also has patents pending for future Stickups™ that will feature additional tubes (up to seven) for use at driving ranges.
The 34-inch-long Stickup™ weighs just 12 ounces and stands 24 inches high when extended. The convenient handle / attachment clip makes it a hassle-free alternative to carrying and misplacing wedges and putters. Stickup™ is made of ABS plastic - lighter and more durable than PVC.
