After Weeks of Extensive Testing, Wolter Selects Alpha Golf's Latest Driver And Joins The Exclusive Alpha Golf Elite Long Drive Team
Press Release
Posted 2003-10-06
Alpha Golf announced today that Carl
Wolter, the current ReMax World Long Drive Champion, will defend his record-setting
title as a member of the Alpha Golf Professional Long Drive Team. Wolter, who
came from nowhere last year to earn the open division crown 2002 World Long
Drive Championships, went on to win by the largest margin of victory in World
Long Drive finals history. Using Alpha Golf's heralded new 460 cc Alpha C830-2
and the Alpha Version 2 drivers, Wolter will defend his title at the 2003
ReMax World Long Drive Championship later this month in Mesquite, Nevada.
In addition to Carl Wolter, Alpha Golf's very select team of professional
Long Drive competitors includes 2000 ReMax World Long Drive Champion Viktor
"Swing Kong" Johansson. Johansson won the event as a 22-year old rookie in 2000 and
joined the Alpha Golf Professional Long Drive Team in April of this year. No
other driver company will have more men's open division ReMax World Long Drive
champions representing it at this year's championship. Wolter and Johansson
join 2002 Long Drivers of America (LDA) Tour Championship winner Vince Howell,
Greg Wellong and Tom Celone to make up Alpha Golf's current Professional Long
Drive team roster and professional advisory staff.
"I am very happy to have had the opportunity to hit Alpha Golf's new 460cc
driver," Carl Wolter stated. "Alpha Golf is noted for developing the latest
innovations in golf equipment technology and this 460cc head is amazing. Defending
my title this year is very important to me. With the quality of the
competition in long drive steadily improving, you do not want to be left behind from an
equipment standpoint. After testing the new Alpha driver, I found that it
hits farther than anything else I tried. I am excited about my equipment and feel
confident in this 460cc Alpha C830-2 driver working in combination with my
AccuFLEX "Assassin" shaft.
"We are so pleased that Carl Wolter has chosen to hit our new 460 cc Alpha
C830-2 driver and join our team and advisory board," Alpha Golf president Jim
Yeh commented. "We think that speaks to the cutting edge nature of our
technology. With these champions in place, we at Alpha Golf intend to continue to be
the leader in advanced golf equipment technology. One of our goals is to win the
world long drive title. More importantly, it is important to have a group of
the best long drivers in the world on our professional advisory staff so that
we can continue to stay ahead in the development of the best golf equipment
technology."
