Rossa Introduces Monza Long and Monza Mid

Press Release

Rossa putters, a brand of TaylorMade-adidas Golf, has introduced two new versions of its popular mallet-style Monza putter: the Monza Long and Monza Mid. The heads of both of these new putters are respectively engineered to work best with a long and mid-length shaft.

"There's more to making a long and mid-length putter than sticking a standard putterhead on the end of a long shaft," says Sean Toulon, Senior Vice President of Brand Management and Creation for TaylorMade. "The dynamics of both the shaft and stroke call for a putterhead made larger to precise proportions, and heavier to the exact degree. Careful analysis by Rossa engineers resulted in Monza heads expanded to specific dimensions that were calculated to deliver optimum performance with a long shaft and with a mid-length shaft.

Specifically, the Monza Long is 11% larger and, at 440 grams, weighs 95 more grams than the standard Monza, while the Monza Mid is also 11% larger and weighs 30 grams more than the standard Monza. The larger size and added weight of both the Monza Long and Monza Mid contribute to a higher MOI, equaling greater stability and forgiveness on mis-hits.

Although the Monza Long and Monza Mid putterheads are made larger and heavier, both incorporate the same performance elements that contribute to the standard Monza's superior performance and visual appeal, including:

Monza's linear alignment system: The distinctive clubhead design incorporates two distinctive red-colored CGB (center of gravity back) Pipes positioned perpendicular to the clubface and bisected by a white sight-line. These elements work together to provide a vivid optical tool that helps the player to build a clear image of the target-line, helping him or her to consistently 1) aim the putterface correctly, and 2) swing the putterhead down the target-line, consequently rolling the ball with precision and accuracy.

Monza's CGB Pipes: Constructed of Titallium and precision-filled with tungsten, the length and weighting of Monza's CGB Pipes permit a massive shift of more than 100 grams from the front of the putter to the rear. This shift moves the center of gravity back in the putterhead, positively altering launch conditions by increasing the launch angle while producing forward roll. The result is a smooth, almost bounceless roll off the putterface. And by moving the CG back, TaylorMade engineers also succeeded at increasing the Monza's MOI, resulting in added stability and forgiveness on mis-hits.

Large, trapezoidal shape: Monza's substantial, trapezoidal shape positions significant mass behind the putterface, contributing to the putter's terrific feel at impact.

Rossa's Titallium face insert technology: Monza's exception feel is also owed in part to Rossa's renowned Titallium face insert technology, which contributes to Rossa putters' distinct, soft-yet-crisp feel at impact.

Precision-forged: Like the original, standard-length Monza, Monza Long and Monza Mid are precision-forged of high-strength, 6061 aluminum and finished in a rich black color via a precision anodizing process that enhances durability and cosmetic appeal.

The Monza Long is available in 48" and 51" lengths; the Monza Mid is available in 42" and 43" lengths.

Manufacturer's suggested retail price for both the Monza Long and Monza Mid are $249.
