Quick Take Review: The Swing Sock

Andrew Penner

For far too many of us, getting to the golf course with plenty of time to spare is a pipe dream. In fact, it’s often a high-speed, multiple-ticketed race to get to the blocks on time. And hitting warm-up balls? Forget it. No time. Maybe before the club championship, but that’s it.

Oh, and those annoying, cumbersome warm-up clubs? Only for geeks. Na, we’d rather get to the blocks stone-cold stiff and cold-top a few to start things off. Ah yes, the customary “quad” to begin the round. Bit silly, isn’t it?

Well, enter a new warm-up device that might, for what it’s worth, get that quad down to a triple or, heaven forbid, even a double. The Swing Sock!

The Swing Sock is a weighted sock that fastens to your clubhead via a Velcro strap. It’s very easy to use, convenient to store, and comes in a variety of weights. It can fit both irons and woods.

And, if that doesn’t melt your butter, the Swing Sock is a device that can also improve the tempo and rhythm of your golf swing. So now, no excuses for not, ahem, “sockin’ it to ‘em” early in the round. Swing Socks retail for $19.95. www.swingsock.com.
