COBRA ANNOUNCES INTRODUCTION OF EIGHT-MODEL AUSSIE SERIES PUTTER LINE
Press Release
Posted 2003-12-14
Cobra, the fastest growing club brand in golf, announces the introduction of its new Cobra Aussie Series putter line, eight different models designed with the avid golfer in mind. With the new Cobra Aussie Series, Cobra is staying true to its blueprint for success of making the game more enjoyable for golfers by offering quality, performance and innovative technology-based products at a fair price.
“The new Cobra Aussie Series putter line represents the rounding out of the product offerings for Cobra Golf as we continue the momentum that was initially generated two years ago by the introduction of the popular King Cobra SS metals,” said Jeff Harmet, General Manager, Cobra. “The metals launch was followed by successful irons and wedge line introductions. Today, we enhance our tee-to-green equipment offerings with an innovative and high quality, yet affordable line of Cobra putters.”
The Cobra Aussie Series putters are designed with a 17-4 steel body and a milled 6061 alloy insert for a soft, yet solid feel at impact. A low center of gravity promotes a consistent, true roll on the golf ball, while heel-toe weighting generates a high moment of inertia to provide greater accuracy, feedback and distance control. A soft, 45-durometer grip offers better feel for greater control. Aesthetically, the putters feature classic shapes and clean lines to promote superior alignment and provide greater confidence at address. The putters also feature a rich, black nickel finish to help reduce glare. Loft, lie and weight specifications are included on the sole of the putter to provide important information to golf consumers at point of purchase.
Cobra, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, went back to its roots by identifying each of the Cobra Aussie Series putters by the name of a major Australian city. Putter models include: Melbourne I, Melbourne II, Sydney I, Adelaide, Canberra, Townsville, Perth I and Perth II. The Melbourne II and Perth II are also available in left hand and Ladies (33 inch) models. The Ladies models feature a soft cobalt finish. All putters feature 3.5-degree lofts, 72 degree lies on blade putters and 71 degree lies on mallets, and are available in lengths of 34 and 35 inches with True Temper step-less chrome shafts.
