Dunlop Launches ReDesigned DDH Ball Series

Press Release

Posted 2003-02-26

Dunlop has introduced an expanded collection of its extremely popular DDH golf balls, with enhanced performance technologies and striking new packaging designs. Categorized as “DDH Deep Distance,” “DDH Arrow Straight” and “DDH Butter Soft,” the collection has been developed to be compatible with different swing characteristics and playability preferences. DDH Deep Distance features a larger, high velocity core that gives golfers with moderate-to-high swing speeds maximum length and a firmer feel. DDH Arrow Straight’s unique cover blend reduces spin rate for those prone to hook or slice off the tee. For golfers with low-to-medium swing speeds, DDH Butter Soft is engineered with a reduced compression core that produces an ideal balance of distance and feel.

“The DDH name has great equity among golfers,” said Dunlop Sports Group Americas vice president of marketing Shane Duffy. “We wanted to freshen the line with innovative, consumerfriendly packaging, while making a few design tweaks to enhance performance.” Dunlop is offering the balls in three distinctive containers. A vertically shaped pack features a unique pull-down spout to dispense 16 loose-packed balls (SRP $11.95). The cube-like 18-ball pack comes with a Dunlop-branded mesh ball bag (SRP $12.99). A 24-ball pack is patterned after a beverage container, complete with a convenient carry handle (SRP $17.95). Each pack features Dunlop’s trademark “Flying D” logo highlighted by bright red (Deep Distance), orange (Arrow Straight) and yellow (Butter Soft) colors. A worldwide leader in sports equipment since its beginnings in 1910, Dunlop continues to create innovative equipment for dedicated sports enthusiasts, including the acclaimed Tad Moore golf club collection and a full array of premium racquet sports equipment, including the world’s #1 tennis ball.
