Champ Spikes Ring True at Bellsouth Classic

Winner and seven other top-10 finishers put their trust in CHAMP spikes - MARLBOROUGH, MA — CHAMP entered the winner’s circle for the seventh time in 2004 as the winner of the BellSouth Classic wore CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec™ spikes for his first career PGA Tour victory.

In addition to the winner, seven other golfers in the top 10 chose CHAMP spikes, with six wearing CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec spikes and two wearing CHAMP Stinger™ spikes. Last week at THE PLAYERS Championship, CHAMP also dominated the top of the leaderboard as the winner and 10 of the 12 golfers who finished in top 10 (including ties) wore CHAMP spikes, with eight wearing CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec™ spikes, one wearing CHAMP ScorpionSpikes™ and one wearing CHAMP Stinger™ spikes.

Overall at the BellSouth Classic, more golfers wore CHAMP branded spikes than any other spike manufacturer. According to the Darrell Survey, 24 golfers wore CHAMP soft golf spikes, with 14 wearing CHAMP Stinger spikes and 10 wearing CHAMP ScorpionSpikes™. In addition, according to CHAMP’s Tour representative, 45 golfers wore CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec spikes, bringing CHAMP’s overall spike count at the BellSouth Classic to 69 or 48 percent of the field.

In 2003, CHAMP golf spikes visited the winner’s circle 49 times on the PGA, LPGA and Nationwide tours. CHAMP posted 21 victories on the PGA Tour, 19 on the LPGA Tour and nine on the Nationwide Tour. And of those 49 total wins, 28 were with CHAMP soft golf spikes, with CHAMP ScorpionSpikes™ leading the way with 26 of those victories.
