Hamilton Farm Golf Club Lands Top Teaching Professionals

Press Release

GLADSTONE, N.J., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Already renown for its historic setting, pristine yet challenging courses, and accessibility to New York City, Hamilton Farm Golf Club has solidified its place among the nation's elite clubs by landing three of the top golf professionals in the United States.

Mark Wood, owner of the Mark Wood Golf Academy (www.markwoodgolf.com), has joined Hamilton Farm as Executive Director of Golf. Ranked by Golf Digest as one of the top 50 instructors in the country, Mark is widely acclaimed for his teaching style, communication skills, innovative techniques, and his absolute commitment to excellence. As he puts it, "my goal is to provide Hamilton Farm's membership the very best golf experience in North America."

Mark's other recognitions include "100 Best Teachers in the Country" (Golf Magazine) and "Teacher of the Year" (South Florida PGA), and his notable students include Dudley Hart, Stewart Cink, and Bo Van Pelt on the PGA tour. Mark is a featured instructional writer for Golf Magazine; a guest instructor for "Academy Live" on The Golf Channel; a contributing author for the Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel; and co-host of a weekly golf radio show about the PGA Tour.

Jeff Diehl, who is Hamilton Farm's new Head Golf Professional, comes to the Club from Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA, where he worked under the legendary PGA Master Professional and Director of Golf, Bob Ford, for seven years. Oakmont is an eight-time U.S. Open site where Jeff has been the Acting Head Pro and Director of Tournament Operations. He was involved with the 1994 U.S. Open and was a member of the Executive Committee for the 2003 U.S. Amateur Championship. In addition, Jeff was an integral member of the team that landed Oakmont the 2007 U.S. Open and 2010 U.S. Women's Open. In addition, Jeff has volunteered for five years with the Pittsburgh Youth Golf Foundation, instructing summer programs for inner-city school children.

Kathy Hart Wood, who currently is among "America's Top 50 Teachers" (Golf for Women), joins Hamilton Farm as Director of Women's Golf. A former Touring Professional who competed in the professional ranks on the European and South African Tours, Kathy is a member of the LPGA's Teaching and Club Professional Division and has been the lead instructor for the Golf for Women Schools by Nicklaus/Flick. She also is a contributing editor to Golf for Women and founded the LPGA Girls Golf Club of South Florida.

Hamilton Farm Golf Club is one of America's premier private golf clubs. Located sixty-minutes from Manhattan, in Gladstone, New Jersey, the Club was developed on property that once was one of the most significant working farms in the state. Although history is important to the Hamilton Farm experience, golf takes center stage. Hurdzan Fry designed 36 holes of superior golf, including the Highlands Course, a 7,100-yard championship layout, and the Hickory Course, a 3,000-yard short course that Ron Whitten, Architecture Editor of Golf Digest, calls "one of the best par-3 courses in America."
