MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 2004--Perry Ellis International (Nasdaq:PERY) announced today that it will launch its luxury Tricots St. Raphael(R) brand into the golf apparel business for fall 2004. Perry Ellis International will leverage its golf apparel infrastructure to support Tricots St. Raphael(R)'s new collection. The line will use Perry Ellis' in-house embroidery department. It will be distributed through the company's separate golf warehouse, and be promoted by a full sales force of 10 people.

"Our new Tricots St. Raphael(R) line is the sportswear solution to golf," said Ronald Platovsky, executive vice president of merchandising and production for the brand. "The merchandise is exclusive to Tricots St. Raphael(R)'s golf apparel business and targets the affluent golf enthusiast looking for fashionable colors and contemporary sportswear."

Platovsky continued: "Tricots St. Raphael(R)'s casual elegant clothing appeals to men who enjoy the resort and country club lifestyle. Our new line looks great under a sports coat, as a layering piece, and it can be worn at the office. We have achieved our objective of providing beautiful fabrications at good value.
