LPGA Exemptions Big News for The Big Break III; Series' Third Season for Ladies Only

Press Release

ORLANDO, Fla., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- A chance to play on the LPGA Tour against the best women in the world will be offered to the winner of The Golf Channel's third season of The Big Break, the popular reality television series where aspiring golfers vie for their chance at success on golf's biggest stages.

Sustaining the momentum of the ladies' 2004 season, The Golf Channel begins a contestant search today for The Big Break III: Ladies Only, which will feature a grand prize entry into select LPGA tournaments, including the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill.

The series is looking for 10 women willing to put it all on the line in front of an international television audience in the hopes of making their golfing dreams come true. Thousands of expected applicants will be whittled down to an invitation-only list of candidates that will be invited to audition at one of six sites across the United States. These hopefuls must be willing to show The Golf Channel producers that they have the right stuff and the right game to become part of the show. The first audition will take place June 12 at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.

The Big Break was a breakout hit for The Golf Channel in its debut season in the fall of 2003. Winner Justin Peters received four exemptions on the Canadian Tour. Currently, producers are putting the wraps on auditions for The Big Break II, which will air beginning in September. Ladies Only will begin production in September and is scheduled to premiere in January 2005.

Interested candidates can apply for The Big Break III by logging on to http://www.TheGolfChannel.com. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold a verifiable handicap of 3 or better.
