Sonartec In The Bag of SAP Open Winner on European Tour Press Release
Sonartec Immediate Release May 26, 2004 - Sonartec Golf earned their 5th victory of 2004 at the Deutsche Bank - SAP Open champion on the European Tour, according to Sports Marketing Surveys. The victory was the winner's 2nd this year on the European Tour using a Sonartec fairway wood.
The win is Sonartec's 39th Worldwide Tour Win since 2001, of which 26 have been on the PGA Tours and the European Tour.
Sonartec also collected their 25th Top Ten after 21 events on the PGA Tour this past weekend at the Colonial. With the Top Ten showing at the Colonial, the new Md Transition Club achieved its 7th Top Ten finish in 2004. Only the Sonartec NP-99 (10 Top Tens) has more Top Ten finishes on the year for Sonartec.
The patented Driving CavityTM is leading Sonartec's PGA Tour and retail success. The Driving Cavity removes mass from the sole and back of the club head, allowing Sonartec to manipulate the horizontal and vertical Center of Gravity (CG) position within the club head. The design redistributes weight to the heel and the toe, pulling the CG deep within the club head for forgiveness on miss-hits. The design also raises the CG, producing a penetrating ball flight that maximizes distance. Controlling the CG positions enables Sonartec to develop performance-oriented golf clubs designed to meet the specific needs of various player types - from the beginning golfer looking for forgiveness to the professional looking for control and workability. The design received the Golf Tips Magazine Tech Award for "Most Innovative Weighting Scheme."
