Sonartec is the # 3 fairway wood at the US Open

Press Release

Sonartec Immediate Release June 18, 2004 - Sonartec Golf has 23 clubs in play at the 104th US Open, making the specialty fairway wood company the # 3 ranking fairway wood in the US Open Darrell Survey club count. Twenty-one players chose to use Sonartec fairway woods at Shinnecock Hills, while only 2 players in the field are sponsored players. Other players chose to use Sonartec clubs at the US Open solely based on the performance of the clubs.

The new Md hybrid Transition Club is the most used Sonartec club at the US Open. Sonartec Vice President Bob Gotfredson reported from Shinnecock that players were loving the distance and control of the Md off the tee, while being able to land the ball softly on the very hard greens, which they were not able do with a long iron.

Twenty-three is the highest club count Sonartec has ever had in a "Major" tournament. Five different Sonartec models were put into play at the US Open, all of which are available to the general public as part of Sonartec's standard product line offerings. (Md - 7 units, NP-99 - 7 units, SS-03 - 5 units, SS-02 - 2 units, SS-07 - 2 units)

"Our Driving Cavity™ technology raises the Center of Gravity in the club head," said Sonartec Marketing Coordinator Jon Claffey. "This maximizes distance by eliminating spin and by making a piercing, penetrating ball flight that cuts through the wind. Our fairway woods are long and the players benefit from the added length on this golf course."

Sonartec is the # 3 most played fairway wood on the PGA Tour overall and has been used by 65 players on the PGA Tour in 2004. Twenty percent of the PGA Tour's 2004 Top 125 money list have put a Sonartec fairway wood into play.
