Don

Is Club Crown still around? There website seems to bomb when I try to search their inventory. Seems like they've started a self-install smaller version of the product but I was thinking about shipping off my driver to them because it's got a few scratches on the crown and I thought I'd give that a try...but their site not functioning normally makes me think maybe they are not in business anymore. Any idea?

DON
Still in business

YES Scott, they are still in business. And they did come out with a small stripe that you can apply to the crown of any wood yourself. The full size Club Crown is still done in shop only. They do have some local golf shops doing the work, so you might be able to find one near you and save some time with shipping your driver. If you check the forum section, Hot Off The Presses you should find a recent post on the College LOGO stripes they recently added to their line. The full size patterns are excellent and LONG lasting. The two clubs I had it done to look great and shoe ZERO signs of wear.

Well every time I try to go

Well every time I try to go to their website for the professionally installed version, not the stripe, I get errors like the pages don't exist. I can get to the main site

http://www.clubcrownbyvive.com/

But if I go into the SHOP area, it bombs. I may email them. I don't really want the stripe version but I guess I could consider it.

DON
Seems okay from here

I just went to their site using the link you provided and it went FINE. I was able to look at all of the patterns with no problems. I didn't try to buy one but it's working with my computer up to that point. I think the price has gone up, as it's now $49.99. I don't remember what it was before, but I think it was less when I got two clubs done awhile back.

Interesting. I still can't

Interesting. I still can't get there. I sent them a screen shot of the error that's coming up for me. I can't browse any of their inventory.

DON
Different computer or browser???

Do you have a different computer you can use at work or a friend? Might be an issue for some reason that makes no sense at all. Or it might be your browser. I'm using the latest version of Internet Explorer, 10 or 11 not sure at the moment.

DON
Price issue

Just went back to the site again and it's still working okay from here. Not sure what might be wrong from your end. As for the current price of $49.99, I think the reason I think the price is higher is that NOW they include round trip shipping into the price, something that was extra before. So the total cost might be about the same. Sorry for the confusion guys.

Strange. I tried from work

Strange. I tried from work today, completely different computer and completely different network and same error.

The only site that works is the one with the stripe, the one we can install. but the primary site fails everytime I try to use it. Maybe it's similar to the issues you had accessing this site when I was using that service which had a too aggressive security prevention.

Who knows..but sucks because I would probably buy one, but not if I can see it...

DON
site problems at ClubCrown

I know the woman that is the media rep for Club Crown, so maybe if you send me the error message, I can send it to her and she can help find a solution to your problem.
Did you ever email them ? Strange how it works for me but not for you. Wonder if it could be a matter of WHERE you are compared to where I live. Can't see how it could effect getting onto their site, but I can't think of anything else it can be. I'm using Windows 7 Pro if that matters. Are you using Win 7 or something else? Maybe Aimee can try to get on and see if it works on her end or not.

DON
Try Calling them

Scott. I just called them and told them about your problems, They told me they are noting having any issues on their end, and recommended that YOU call them directly to talk to them. Maybe they can send you a PDF file with photos or something if they can't help you get onto the site directly. I hope this helps in some way.

Have any golfing friends near by with a computer you can use. I can totally understand why you want to look at the photos on the site to pick out the one you want. They have around 100 designs to pick from, but it's not much good if you can't SEE them on their site. I LOVE the Dragpn design I had them install on my 5 wood if this means anything to you. Would look just as good on a driver I'm sure. I have a photo of my driver and 5 wood I can send you if you'd like. Let me know if you come up with any ideas of how I might be able to help you with this.

DON
Any progress Scott?

I was just wondering if you have made any progress getting into their design section on the site. Have you tried to call them or tried a friends computer with a different operating system and browser to see if that works? I an pretty sure you would like the product if you get one installed on your driver. I could not be happier with the ones on my driver and 5 wood.

Hey Don,

Hey Don,

No, still no luck. when I pull up this URL

https://www.clubcrownstripe.com/shop/

I get a browser 404 error. Whether I try from home or the office or multiple computers. I had exchanged emails with their tech folks and sent them a PDF of the error I got, but I still haven't seen a change. It feels like the same issue you were having getting to GGR when I was using that 3rd party security service. it worked for me and Aimee, but not you.

I would like to think about getting one for installed on the driver over the off season, so I'll give them a call. Shoot me an email if you don't mind with your contact person and I'll reach out to them.

DON
Post #3 link and #12 link

Scott. I just clicked on your link in post #12 above and I got the SAME error message you are getting. So there most likely is something wrong with that link. But when I just clicked on your link posted in #3 I get connected to their site with NO problems. In a second I'll go to the Hot Off The Presses post on the Club Crown Stripes and see what happens when I click on that link and get back to you with my results.

DON
Working Ok from here

I just went to the Hot off the presses section and clicked on the links in the posts for ClubCrown and ALL of the links worked fine. They all took me to the Club Crown Stripes site, NOT the one for the full size products. The link for the full size designs is the one in post #3 above, which I'll copy to here now. Here it is, http://www.clubcrownbyvive.com/

I just did some checking and

I just did some checking and ALL of the links in the Hot off the presses section posts WORKED fine for me. They took me to the Stripes part of the Club Crown site. In order to find the full size designs I had to click on the HOME tab and that brought up a way to find the full size designs that you are looking to try on your driver.

Scott. Please NOTE something in your post #12. If you look at the BEGINNING of your link it starts with ( https ). If you look at the link I posted in post #14, it starts with ( http ). There is NO s in the link. Could be that s in the link is the cause of the 404 error we both got using the link with the s. Please try the link I just posted in post #14 and see if that works or not for you. It worked a second ago for me.

Any progress reaching Club Crown?

Have you had any luck getting onto their site with your computer or another computer yet? I send you my contact info for the media rep for Club Crown. Let me know if you didn't get it and I can resend it to you.

Well yes and no. So the link

Well yes and no. So the link I show above is the exact link they send you to when you go to their site and click what used to say "Buy Now" but now says "Get Yours Now". That comes up the when you first get to the site and in the big banner image that rotates in first and says "Ship your clubs to us", there's a "Get Yours Now" link which tries to send me to :

https://www.clubcrownstripe.com/shop/

ANd it fails.

Now, I just realized that further down the page, they have another way to start browsing the inventory in the section where they describe the steps, and the first one is clickable and links to a slightly different version of the link. That works. So I emailed their rep and gave her the details. But for now I have to NOT use the first link and it looks like I can get in.

Thanks Don

So now I have to decide...for

So now I have to decide...for $49 plus shipping, is it worth it? My driver has several scuffs on it from banging around in the cart hitting not one of the other clubs but my alignment stick which stands taller. Anyway, my Cobra driver I could probably buy for $100 now maybe less, so is it worth $50 to hide the blemishes. Maybe I'll go back and look at the cheaper user installed versions on the Stripe site they have. Didn't like them as much but they were cheaper.

DON
it's the s

The link you have above is the same one you posted before that didn't work for me either, and it was the s at the beginning of the address that is the problem. Delete the s and it works fine. SEE my post #15 above.
As for the $49 cost, I think that includes the shipping both ways, but I could be wrong on that. Either way they are not cheap, but they sure look nice, and your driver will look BETTER than it did when it was new. Did I mention the FUN FACTOR ???

Don

Putting is easy if you have the Right Putter.

DON
Shipping IS included

I just check and the cost includes shipping. You print out a "Pre-Paid" shipping label on your printer and mail it off. So the $49 is the TOTAL you pay. Back when I sent mine in the cost was less but shipping was extra, so I think the total is about the same.

Saw a Club Crown at the range yesterday

There was a women at the range yesterday with a driver with a black and white leopard print Club Crown on it. It was a great FIT to go with her leopard print golf bag, purse, golf towel, and golf glove. Turns out her husband just got her a Whole new set of clubs as a present and she is on her way to Vegas to attend a week long Golf School at the John Jacobs golf academy. She has only been playing golf for about a year, so a week at a golf school should be a great way to get a good head start on the game. I hope I get to see her again AFTER she gets back as it would be fun to see how her game changes after a week of work with a teaching pro.

nice. I think I'm going to get one. On the first look through I didn't see one that jumped out at me but I was going to go back through them again. I'm getting tired of seeing the scuff marks on the top of my driver.

Don, double checked the

Don, double checked the website and yeah, it's $9.99 round trip shipping in addition to the crown cost. I think I'm going to call an installer that's is about 35 minutes away and see if they have what I want in stock. If I can find a place around here that can do it that'll save me some time and $$$.

DON
Total cost??

Here is what I just now found on their site.

ClubCrowns utilize revolutionary crown graphic technology to turn the look of your driver, fairway wood, or hybrid into your own custom design. The patented installation process uses high-tech 3M films, heat temperatures of up to 200 degrees, and Knifeless Tape Technology to ensure the highest quality application, all the while maintaining the security and form of your club.

How does the Ship Your Club To Us service work?
1. Order your ClubCrowns online.
2. Within 24 hours of placing the order, we will email you a complimentary UPS shipping label.
3. Print the label out and attach it to a box. Pack your clubs up and drop it off at UPS.
4. We will professionally install the ClubCrowns and get your clubs back in the mail the same day we receive the package.
5. You receive your clubs back 4-10 business days after placing your order amazed by how great it looks!

I also sent them an email on the TOTAL cost and I should hear back from them shortly, and I'll post their reply here as soon as I can. But it looks the ME like it's $49 total. I didn't see any mention of $9.95 for shipping. Get back to you as soon as I can.

Don

DON
Add $9.99 for shipping.

As I promised, here is the reply I got back from ClubCrown

Don,
The cost for you to ship it to us is $49.99 plus $9.99 shipping, we
provide you with the shipping label and we pay the shipping back to you.
.

Now depending on where you live check our page and see if there is a
retailer or Brand Ambassador near you, that way you can save the
shipping cost.

Thanks let us know if we can help you out with anything

Bear

I just checked for a local installer and the ONLY one close to me is 60-65 miles south of me. I think it would be cheaper to pay the shipping than buy the gas to drive down there.

Yeah I only saw it when I put

Yeah I only saw it when I put one in my cart and started to check out. Then it becomes clear there's a charge. I have a couple places in NC but they are all at least 45 minutes away to 1.5 hrs. So yeah, whether I want to bother to go through that or not is the question. With the 40 degree temps coming in, I may ship mine off soon to try and get the club back next week when it warms up.

DON
They confused me with the label

I read the Complimentary Label part and my brain was thinking it meant FREE shipping. Turns out only the LABEL is free, the UPS costs you $9.99. A bit confusing to say the least. I'm thinking it would be cheaper to ship the club rather than to drive for an hour and pay for the gas both ways. And if you did drive, you'd want to make SURE the guy had your design on hand and could do the work as you WAITED. Two trips both ways would surely cost you more for gas than the $9.99 UPS charges.

So I stumbled upon Don's post

So I stumbled upon Don's post about the ClubCrown stripes being sold on Amazon and poked around there and found 2 that were $4 each which I halfway liked. So I decided to order those with some other things I was purchasing since they were an "add-on" item only which meant they would ship free if you were buying other items and this could be added on. For about $12 - $16 each you could choose from many of the other stripe version they have on their website all with free shipping if you are a prime member, which I am. But these two were both ones I was interested in from looking on their website. So I'll see if I like them enough and try to install it myself and see if that covers enough of the marks to make me happy. Definitely like the $4 price over $49!!!!
