Played this course 3 times this past weekend as part of an outing. The golf package was administered by the hotel. It included a 2 night stay, 3 days of golf at Down River, and a breakfast buffet for 2 days. It only cost $206. Now, to the course. Down River is a very well maintained course, that can play fairly long. It is in the mountains of Western PA but is situated in a valley so it is fairly flat and open. The tee boxes were in very good shape and for the most part were level. Fairways were good and the rough wasn't too bad. Greens were a little difficult to read and you did not want to be above the hole at all. The staff was very nice and accommodating. On the 2nd day, our cart broke down at the 16th green, we called the club house and they brought us out another cart by the time we got to the 17th Tee. The snack shop/bar area was very nice and clean, not a huge selection but they did have good hot dogs and hot sausages as well as some real good chili. Beer was $2.25 a can and a little more for imported beer. I can't wait for next year's outing/weekend there.
