I bleed blue and white. During my four years at Penn State the Penn State golf courses were like my second home. I was there everyday weather permiting. I went to Penn State on a golf scholarship and the Blue Course was our Championship course. The course has gone through a lot of renovations in the past couple of years. During my senior year, we were unable to play the blue course due to golf changes. A lot of trees have come down and bunkers have been added. A huge change occurs with seven and eight. Organially seven and eight were par three, par four, however, now it is a par four, par three. This was a huge change that needed to occur. Even though I have a love for PSU and the Blue Course (mainly because it was home course collegiate course) it still could use a lot of work. The course does not have a good flow. The Blue Course is a combination of holes from the orginial Blue and White Courses. The front nine is mainly made up of the orginial golf constructed while the back nine has the newer holes. Arnold Palmer actually help redesign the PSU Blue Course. However, you can tell the course is made up of several different designers. The greens have the public course over played feel. For a major university with a great turf grass program I except more from Penn State. On game days at the golf courses can be a lot of fun. In the early morning you can hear the Blue Band practice for the big game. You can also start to hear the crowds heading to Beaver Stadium. The course is coming around. Several changes still need to occur. The potential is there to become a great course.

I wrote another review on the Penn State Blue course but I wanted to add that the Blue Course offers a lot of tournaments throughout the year. You can play in some great fundraising or charitable tournaments or get out to see the Men's and Women's team play in their respective home tournaments.
