This course has a history of being ranked somewhere in the Top 100 golf courses you can play. When I played it mid summer a few years back it had fallen on some hard times greens wise. There had been a lot of rain leading up to my playing there but still the greens were partially burnt out. It's 7,150 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. Architect Ken Tomlinson based the design on such legendary venues as Merion and Pine Valley. Called the Pebble Beach of the East, the course is nestled in between large pines, incorporating the salt water marshes, the Intercoastal Waterway, and lots of sand. You do not want to miss the green on the approach shots! The first hole for example, has sort of a false landing area before the green which several large bunkers. The 3rd hole has the entire left side of water marsh/intercoastal waterway. The 8th green for example is bunker by 8 bunkers! So expect a nice golf experience when you come. This is an upscale course so expect to pay $$$ when you come. large bunkers surround the straight-away #5.
