On 2007-09-30, Gentry H. rated this Ping isi-Tec a 5...(7921)

Details: Stiff shaft, 7 degree loft

Purchase: I was struggling with my drive and a friend had this driver, he didn't like that it was 7 degree so I tried it out and hit it longer, straighter than ever.
Pros: I had been ballooning the ball, and hit it about 275. When I switched to the PING, I was carrying 270 and rolling near 310. The driver has the highest, most ear piercing 'Ping' at contact that I have ever heard. Flies so straight (when hit square.)
Cons: Not much to complain about. The only possible thing that could hurt the average golfer is that if you strike the club on the toe, it tends to sharply hook, and slice when contacted on the heel. I understand all drivers do that, but this seemed a bit extreme.
Quality: Amazing quality. Alough the club is about ten years old, I choose this over any other driver, (r7, G10, Sumo SQ, etc.) Great metal, and goes FAR.

Review Summary: Just go out and try to find the driver wherever you can.

Purchase: Demo Driver on sale at El Paso CC, El Paso TX. $200. Changed drivers for about 2 weeks, being left handed had to buy driver (brand name) to try out. Disliked. Went to EPCC and they had demo Driver of newer version of what I had given up. Driver #1:ISI, Driver #2: Titleist, Driver #3 TiTec. Was able to try and went back to driver I had used for about 5 years (ie: Ping)
Pros: Head sets up square, loft on driver (10) with new balls (pro-V1x) allows for carry over most trouble. Handicap (+2)
Cons: No Dislikes of Ping
Quality: TiTec, Titanium head, Graphaloy shaft (S), Standard grip. Square face

Review Summary: I look around for the new equipment but being left handed usually must wait for about 1 year before top of line equipment is avaliable. Being able to test driver before purchase was best help around. Pings quality is second to none and will be repeat customer for long time.
