On 2009-06-02, andy rated this Titleist 905R a 5...(8401)

Details: 9.5* with ust pro force V2 stiff flex shaft

Purchase: Got this baby off ebay, never before liked UST shafts, infact I bought it for 135.00 expecting to have to re-shaft it. I've tried every brand out there and most models froms those brands, I haven't found anything yet that consistantly outperforms the 905R. I will not reshaft it, the combination of the loft/shaft gives me laser like precision and I even picked up some distance. Now I'm hitting around 280 and I can tell ya where its gonna land before I swing. In short if you can get one of these I would opt for a 10.5 instead of 9.5, but I would jump all over it!!!
Pros: Traditional headshape and size doesn't really look like a 'big' driver, solid as a rock performance, easy to hit! As always with titleist its 'sneaky' long!
Cons: Nothing best driver consistancy I have ever had.
Quality: A plus quality! Its titleist for cryin out loud!

Review Summary: If you find it in your loft and flex your crazy not to try/buy it!

On 2007-11-17, Vic rated this Titleist 905R a 5...(7953)

Details: 460cc, 10.5, Graphite Designs YS-6+ Stiff.

Purchase: I came about to the 905R because I started playing the 755 irons. I fell in love with the irons so I thought I'd give their drivers a shot. I didin't like the way the 907s looked but the 905s were just right down the alley (and price too). I got the club used but in near mint condition. I paid $140 for it.
Pros: What is there not to love. The club looks clean and simple. No huge yellow patches or 'r7's on the sole. The thing that catches the eye is the Titleist script and red arrow. The sound is crisp and not too loud (I've been using a HiBore so I would know). Fades and draws are easy to achieve, might I say forgiving? I lost about 10m from my HiBore but gained accuracy. I'll take accuracy at the cost of 10m, who wouldn't? The shaft is spot on for my swing. To sum it up, a classic and efficient design with out the gaudiness of what you would expect from today's drivers.
Cons: If you like loud (someone dropping a trash can from the third floor) drivers, this is not the one for you.
Quality: It's a Titleist, need I say more?

Review Summary: A great club and at the price of last year's models, one that should not escape your bag.

Details: 9.5 Adilda 65s shaft

Purchase: club pro-shop. I had the 983k before with reg. shaft i also had mizuno 001, ping g2,gave them to friends and kept the 983k I really liked the look and the weightI drove better than all my friends and more regular, I thought about getting the new 905r as it was bigger and also I trust Titleist, they dont change very often they dont push out reviews they quietly get on with the goods, I also assume that they maximise their drivers with the nxt and pro v1's so you get a whole system matchThe club pro and his assistant had just bought one as well.I had that much faith in the company that I bought one with the adilda 65s shaft I was worried about going up to a stiffer shaft as i had a border line swing speed.so off to the open range and first drive wow long and straight, the same feel as the 983k only better and longer and surprise surprise I feel I am getting longer straighter shots with less effortstiff shaft adilda fantastic''''
Pros: everything
Cons: Titleist give us a Zip Cover please, please, please.
Quality: 5 Stars top excellant

Review Summary: Stop reading reviews about r7's etc and go try a Titleist and then you will know why they dont need to push there products in the journals. The weight the looks the performance it has it all, and you dont have to screw in weights to the outside of the club when the centre of gravity is in --you guessed the centre where it belongs. They do the engineering you do the golf.
