On 2007-02-14, Jared rated this Adams Ovation Offset a 4...(7632)

Details: Regular flex Aldila factory Shaft. This review is regarding the Ovation Offset driver with 10.5* of loft.

Purchase: Ebay, bought ovation fairway woods (love them) and got this as a bonus. $99 for 3 5 and driver
Pros: When you hit it on center with a solid swing and make solid contact this will run with the cobras and other clubs. Has great distance capability.
Cons: I saw other people praising the awesome forgiveness. I don't fell its as forgiving as people say. It will go pretty straight but you lose a ton of distance and the feeling is completely different. You know when you don't hit it right. Also i used to swing a driver really easy on my 245 yard par 3 and have great results with my last driver. This club does not react well to that. This club likes a faster swing.
Quality: Good Quality

Review Summary: Great value. You can get them cheep and the offset will cure your slice. Lately I am have to open the face at adress because i cured my slice and do big hooks on my ofsset driver. I still love my offset ovation woods though, they rock hard!

On 2006-06-15, former short knocker rated this Adams Ovation Offset a 5...(7116)

Details: 460 cc head 9.5 degree, Aldila 65 Stiff shaft

Purchase: I bought this club on sale for $70 after agonizing over all kinds of different drivers. I needed a driver with less loft than my previous driver because I tend to hit the ball high. After hitting several in the simulator, this club gave me the most consistent launch angle of 14 degrees.
Pros: For a club that I didn't spend that much money on, I love the way I can feel the ball launch off of the face. There is no such thing as a bad hit off of this club. If I hit it dead center, thin, or off the heel, I still get great carry, and my drive distance has increased by 25-40 yards. My old driver was a sky high 200 yard carry with no roll. Now I'm carrying about 210-215 with a good bounce and roll depending on how level the fairway is. (I'm in Pennsylvania, lots of hilly courses). I even called Adams because I was torn over the Ovation or spending more for a Redline RPM. They told me that all the specs were the same, but the RPM had the weights in it. I just bought the Ovation offset to compensate for my fade.
Cons: Not much. Like others, the headcover stinks. The only criticism I have is that shots out near the toe tend to duck hook on me, (but that is probably more 'operator error' than anything else).
Quality: No problems

Review Summary: If you are like me, and want to be a better player, even though golf is just an enjoyable hobby, give this club a shot. For the price I paid and am very happy with it. I hit several other, more expensive drivers after hitting it in the simulator and then a bucket of balls on the range, I went out and shot a 40 for nine holes, which is better than average for me. It definitely shortend my second shots.
