On 2005-10-17, Curt rated this Adams RPM Dual a 5...(6318)
Purchase: I purchased this driver from GolfSmith using their trade in program. I traded a stiff, Hogan CS-3 9.5 Nuetral, for a used stiff, Adams RPM Dual, 10.5, Aldila NV. Before the trade the Adams purchase price was $219.
Pros: In the past 3 years I have played a Nike 450 Knock off 9.5 with the Harrison Striper firm shaft, an Adams Redline 10.5 with a Mitsubishi Rayon stiff shaft, the Hogan CS-3 9.5 Nuetral, with their custom Aldila Green shaft, and now back to an Adams Dual 10.5,with the Aldila NV 65 stiff shaft. I have struggled to get the ball flight down with the orginal knock off and the Adams Redline. I believe that the mid flex NV shaft really has improved my ball flight and is helping me to stop "Ballooning" the ball. The adjustable weight system is a nice feature and I play it in the draw configuration, which allows me to worry less about trying to work the ball and more about making good contact. I have found my distance has really improved by controlling my trajectory, I have a swing speed of about 113 and am carrying the ball about 260, which seems about right. The other surprise about the club I really enjoy is it's sound. The combination of a composite top and titanium face makes for nice, solid sounding click instead of the tinny sounding pow I heard in my previous clubs.
Cons: I am very pleased with the function of this driver, but I do find the headcover to be a nusance, I wish it was a little longer to protect the shaft from wear, and was easier to slide on.
Quality: So far there is nothing to complain about regarding the way the RPM Dual is manufactured, I enjoy the opportunity to play a true NV shaft without having to have one custom installed.
Review Summary: I have seen these very reasonably priced on Ebay and have encouraged my friends to give it a try; but I would highly recomend making sure you get the shaft that fits your ball flight.
