Purchase: Walking through the aile of a local golf store, I saw this fabulous looking oversized driver and thought the new Taylor Made were just in!!! I was surprised to realize it was an Adams driver and just liked the feel of it. (I was familiar with Adams as I already had an Adams fairway wood in my bag). Right there on the spot, I decided that this driver would be it. And so it was !! Paid about 449 Cdn$ ( or approx 300US$). Never regretted since.
Pros: The Adams Redline driver does not fall within the "driver category" as far as I am concerned. It is rather a golf ball cannon !!!
As I was playing before with a Taylor Made 360, the look alike Adams made me feel comfortable right at the start. I especially liked the "oval form" or the "well balanced rounded form" of the sweet spot on the club face instead of the usual higher height versus width seen on many other clubs. The club is also extremely forgiving (whether you mishit the ball on the club heel or toe, the club will work the ball extremely well to a distance almost similar to a well hit drive.
Bur most importantly, the drives are very, very long. This driver is very impressive.
Cons: The sound or "clink" of the club face on the ball is somewhat different. People sometimes describes the sound as resembling to the sound of a "thin can"..... well, you get used to it real fast when you see that your friends's drives are always behind yours !!!!
Quality: Extremely well built.
Very nice looking with a Black head and a black shaft, a real killer driver !!
When addressing the ball, the feeling is really great; with a 460cc club head (the legal larger allowed club head as decided by the USPGA this year), one just can't hepl thinking that the ball will be catapulted to the stratoshere.... and it does !!! The club also comes standard with an excellent Fujikura shaft which is at least an inch longer than other familiar brands thus generating more head speed and consequently, longer drives. No complaints here !
Review Summary: This driver will be,I assumed, one of this year surprising discovery. Adams Golf with its 460cc oversized head beat them all at the marks.
The driver is also less expensive than other familiar well known brands which is to Adams'advantage. My drives got longer by 30 yards !!!...and courses are getting shorter for me !
Well built, easy to drive, spectacular results and more economical. Just try it....and you will get hooked too!!
