On 2003-05-29, RJ rated this Adams Tight Lies ST 3 and 5 woods (Strong) a 5...(1428)

Purchase: While golfing with several friends, I was having trouble hitting my 3 wood, a Dunlop Reaction club; and my driver had failed me multiple times of the tee, shooting straight into the trees on either side of the fairways. One of my friends suggested trying his club, which was the Adams Tight Lies ST 3 Wood (strong version - the one with the blue face). To everyone's amazement at the next tee, the first time I hit the club, it went farther than my driver and farther than my friends' drives. I went out the next week and bought the 3 and 5 woods in the same model for $99 a piece. It turns out that these models are on sale everywhere.
Pros: The weighting of the club and construction of the shaft make the club easy to swing for players who are good iron players. I have only played for one and a half years and I'm a high handicap player (26) with normal power, but I hit this club 240ish off a tee on a good swing and a little shorter off the fairway. The weighting of the head makes the club drop through nicely on the downswing, which allows me to make solid contact with the ball.
Cons: I like everything about the club. There is nothing bad I can say about it as it has worked for me for the last year.
Quality: The weighting of the club head relative to the shaft allows the club head to drop properly through impact. The shaft is a bi-matrix construction that combines properties of forged titanium with multi-material shaft technology. The purpose is to attempt to deliver the distance of graphite and the accuracy of steel, and for me, that has worked so far.

Review Summary: I really recommend snapping up one of these woods if you are looking for one. I could not be happier with my woods.
